“JDT have 80% chance of winning FA Cup” – B. Sathianathan

Johor Darul Ta’azim (JDT) have the chance of a lifetime to bring the FA Cup trophy down south when they face PKNS FC in the final of the Superbest Power FA Cup next Saturday.

They will face a decent PKNS side, who have upsetted three Malaysia Super League (MSL) sides (Terengganu, FELDA United, Perak) to get into the final, which will probably be held at the Shah Alam Stadium on May 14. This is PKNS FC’s first time in the final of the FA Cup.

Football Coaches Association of Malaysia (FCAM) president B. Sathianathan has confidently said that the trophy is The Southern Tigers’ to lose and he is 80% sure that they will lift it.

“To me, JDT’s chances of winning the trophy are about 80%. PKNS can clinch it only if JDT make mistakes. I’m going for a JDT win,” Sathianathan said as quoted by Berita Harian.

“Mario Gomez’s side have a number of advantages against PKNS, such as world-class football players, experience of the highest level and a never-die attitude from everyone.

“The Kedah match was a good example, when the away side scored a goal but they did not panic and continued playing their game. No other team in the league possess this attitude.”

The Southern Tigers last won the trophy in 1998 when they beat Sabah 1-0 in the final.
