Lee Chong Wei is through to the final of the Asian Badminton Championship after edging over arch rival Lin Dan earlier today.
The Malaysian shuttler has been rather inconsistent this year, but there was an aura of confidence around him, prior to the Lin Dan tie, and her certainly did not disappoint.
The first set was rather closely fought, though Chong Wei eventually won it 22-20. But in the second set, Lin Dan upped his tempo and snatched a comfortable 21-15 win.
Chong Wei though, remained composed and eventually unleashed his full potential in the rubber set, where he completely outclassed Lin Dan en route to winning the set 21-4.
The victory now means that Chong Wei will face Lin Dan’s compatriot and current world number one Chen Long, in the final.
