Johor Darul Ta’azim (JDT) owner Tunku Ismail has declared his admiration of AS Roma captain Francesco Totti as the Italian has been unsettled at the club throughout the season.
On Sunday, the Regent of Johor said that it would be a dream to own Serie A club AC Milan someday, and now he is looking to lure the ex-Italy national team forward to Southeast Asia.
Francesco Totti’s contract with the centrally-located club expires at the end of the season and after clashing with head coach Luciano Spalletti this season, it is likely that he will leave.
“Francesco Totti is a fantastic player and His Royal Highness TMJ often speaks about the many world-class players he admires and Totti is often a central point to these discussions,” The Southern Tigers sports director Alistair Edwards said as quoted by ESPNFC.
The AFC Cup champions are no strangers to big-name players. They made themselves known in Asia when they signed ex-Argentina midfielder Pablo Aimar from Valencia in 2013. They certainly have a certain influence and obviously the financial means to sign Totti.
Will Juan Martin Lucero, who is having a great season, make way for the Italian legend?
