Datuk Lee Chong Wei secured his place in the quarter-final of the Dong Feng Citroen Badminton Asia Championships (BAC) after defeating Hong Kong’s Wong Ki Vincent today.
The two-time Olympic Games silver medallist was dominant from the get go as he brought down the Hong Kong player 23-21, 21-13 in the match that lasted almost an hour.
Lee Chong Wei will now face either Takuma Ueda or Chou Tien Chen in the last eight of BAC.
On the other hand, Zulfadli Zulkiffli was eliminated from the tournament after he valiantly went down 12-21, 21-17, 18-21 to the best player in the world, Chen Long of China.
Vivian Hoo-Woon Khe Wei failed to join Lee Chong Wei in the quarter-finals after losing to Indonesia’s Nitya Krishinda Maheswari-Greysia Polii 21-18, 20-22, 11-21 earlier today.
