EA Sports, the developer of the highly successful FIFA video game series has been in the footballing industry ever since late 1993. It was notable for being the first football video game to have an official licence from the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), the world governing body of football.
EA is also the official performance indexer for the players who play in the English Premier League (EPL). They provide statistics and detailed information about each and every player in the EPL regarding their pass success rate, tackles, shooting, possession and even post-match statistics.
With that, we are led to believe that EA is a very credible source when it comes to rating a player’s overall performance index in the FIFA series, right? No, you’re wrong.
In FIFA 16, a few notable players were given a rating that they were not expected to get. For example, Arsenal’s pacy fullback, Hector Bellerin, broke Theo Walcott’s (fastest player in FIFA) 40-meter Arsenal sprint record by 1/100th of a second, which should make him the fastest player in FIFA 16. But then, Bellerin’s pace is capped at 91 over a total of 99 with 10 other players ranked faster than him.
