Liverpool sealed a sensational victory last night, as they came from behind to nail a 4-3 win over Borussia Dortmund, to book their spot in the semi-finals of the Europa League.
Two goals from Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang gave Dortmund a 2-0 lead within the first 10 minutes, and although Divock Origi pulled one back immediately after the break, Marco Reus made it 3-1 on the 57th minute.
But the Reds kept pushing hard and fans were treated to a repeat telecast of the Istanbul comeback as Jurgen Klopp’s men scored three goals to seal the tie. Coutinho scored on the 66th minute to restore hope, before Sakho made it 3-3 (4-4 on aggregate) on the 77th minute.
Dortmund though, were still going to go through on away goals. That changed in injury time as Dejan Lovren headed home to make it 4-3 and seal Liverpool’s progression into the next stage of the tournament.
After the match, Origi revealed the contents of Klopp’s half-time team talk, which eventually spurred the comeback.
