A Malaysian investor by the name of Dato’ Dr. Noordin Ahmad has reportedly purchased 50% stake in Italian Serie B side, FC Bari.
This news was confirmed by the club yesterday, as current owner Gianluca Paparesta relinquished a large part of his 95% ownership.
“The agreement between Dato’ Dr. Noordin Ahmad and Paparesta was concluded on the 8th of April. Exact details of the deal will be announced in the next few days, and a press conference will also be organized to introduce the new owner,” the club said, through a statement on it’s official Facebook page.
Paparesta is widely regarded as a living legend amongst Bari fans, considering that he stepped in to rescue them in May 2014, when they were on the brink of being dissolved.
But the reception towards this news as been generally positive, as pointed out by SemuanyaBola.com. The Malaysian flag was event paraded on the stands, during their recent Serie B clash against AC Cesena.
