Datuk Seri Dr Hasmiza Othman, or better known as Datuk Seri Vida, put a great amount of faith in her players after she offered RM10,000 each if they completed the entire 90 minutes against Johor Darul Ta’azim (JDT) during their Malaysia Super League (MSL) tie last Friday.
The Pamoga Qu Puteh The Red Warriors (PQPTRW) owner was inspiring her players in the locker room prior to kick-off before she announced the RM10,000 reward. She was being recorded and the video eventually went viral through the ‘Friends Of JDT’ Facebook page.
“I will give RM10,000 to those who complete 90 minutes tonight,” DSV told her players.
The Vida Beauty founder said that the money offered to her players was more of inspiration so that her squad will be motivated to return the favour of achieving a positive result.
“I was unaware that the video went viral and I do admit that I promised a reward of RM10,000 in order to give them a bit of confidence,” DSV said as quoted by Berita Harian.
“I decided to go ahead and offer them the bonus without discussing with the Kelantan Football Association (KAFA) because it was an initiative I wanted to carry out for myself.
“The boys performed brilliantly in the second half to recover a two-goal deficit. However, since we only managed to get a draw, the value of this reward must be forgotten,” DSV concluded.
