Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi head coach Shafiqul Islam Manik has described Selangor as the complete team prior to their AFC Cup group stage tie at the Selayang Stadium tonight.
The Bangladeshi side took the lead twice in their 4-3 defeat against Selangor at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka last month and will have only 14 players (including a substitute goalkeeper) when they face The Red Giants away from home later tonight.
“We lost 4-3 in Dhaka despite playing well,” Shafiqul said as quoted by Utusan Malaysia.
“However, the advantage lies with Selangor tonight because their foreign and local players are very good. In addition, we came to Malaysia with only 14 players, including two goalkeepers. A number of our players are injured and a few others left the team.
“Nonetheless, the depletion is not enough for us to give up. We will fight until the end.”
A Selangor win will take them to second place in Group E of the 2016 AFC Cup, whereas Ceres La Salle will face Tampines Rovers at the Paanad Park and Stadium in Bacolod tonight.
