Wei Feng and Daren’s departure will not affect LCW – Roslin Hashim

Former national shutter Roslin Hashim believes that the departure of Chong Wei Feng and Liew Daren will not hurt Lee Chong Wei’s preparations for the upcoming Rio Olympics.

Both shuttlers have been Chong Wei’s sparring partners over the past few months, but Roslin claims that the former world number one’s training plans can go on as planned, despite Wei Feng’s decision to jump on the exit bandwagon.

“There’s nothing to worry about Chong Wei’s training plans, despite the departure of Daren and Wei Feng. Chong Wei has his own programs,” Roslin told Arena Metro.

“I’ve noticed that Chong Wei and Hendrawan have a firm understanding on what needs to be done. He’s also pretty independent during training sessions,” he added.

Roslin also went on to add that the likes of Iskandar Zulkarnain, Goh Soon Huat and Soo Tech Zhi and more than capable of stepping in as Chong Wei’s sparring partners.

Meanwhile, Chong Wei is through to the second round of the Indian Open after comfortably easing through his first round battle yesterday.
