Ahmad Yusof’s time with Terengganu has officially come to an end after both parties agreed to mutually terminate the contract.
The 56 year-old became the first head coach to be ‘rested’ this year, following Terengganu’s poor start to the season. But while Mike Mulvey was handed the job on an interim basis, no confirmation was given on the official status of Ahmad Yusof, until yesterday.
“I agreed to the decision after negotiating with the management (PBSNT). I’m satisfied with the deal and I’d like to thank everyone in Terengganu for solving the issue without any further disruptions,” Ahmad Yusof told Berita Harian.
“For now, I just need a break. I don’t want to contemplate any offers for the time being. But in future, I will definitely return if the offer is an interesting one,” he added.
While the Ahmad Yusof saga has been put to bed, Terengganu will now shift their focus towards appointing a permanent replacement.
Mike Mulvey’s interim stint is scheduled to end at the beginning of April, and while he’s been touted by fans to be a fitting permanent replacement, Terengganu are reportedly considering several other candidates as well.
