Get in there, Guedioura!
The 30 year-old Watford midfielder scored a stunning goal to double his team’s lead over Arsenal during their FA Cup quarter-final match at The Emirates Stadium last night. Odion Ighalo lobbed a through ball over Gabriel Paulista and Per Mertesacker was held off by Troy Deeney, who then set up the Algerian international for a wonderful strike past David Ospina.
The goal sent Watford into the semi-finals of the FA Cup, where they might end facing the likes of Everton, Crystal Palace or Manchester United/West Ham United. Adlene Guedioura, who used to play for Crystal Palace, would be relishing a last-four clash against The Eagles.
Danny Welbeck scored a late consolation goal to pull one back for Arsenal, but the home team played without a clear plan of action and the spirit to overcome the mighty Watford.
