Malaysians left shell-shocked on Twitter after LCW’s All England exit

If you happen to live and work in Malaysia, be prepared to deal with frustrated individuals today. Malaysia’s number one shuttler Datuk Lee Chong Wei has been sent packing from the All England championship after suffering a first round defeat against India’s B. Sai Praneeth.

The former world number lost the battle on straight sets, with Praneeth triumphing 24-22, 22-20 to book his spot in the next round of the competition.

This setback certainly comes as a shock, considering that the shuttler had been in decent form prior to this. His failure also comes as a major disappointment for Malaysians, who are pinning their Olympic gold medal hopes on several athletes, including Chong Wei.

Predictably, they took to Twitter to share their disappointment and frustrations – though some remain optimistic enough that Chong Wei will bounce back in time for Rio.
