FMLLP secure U Mobile sponsorship for MPL and FA Cup

Malaysian telecommunication providers, U Mobile has agreed to jump on the Malaysian football bandwagon as an official shared sponsor for the Superbest Power FA Cup as well as the Malaysian Premier League, for the next three years.

In a statement released yesterday, U Mobile confirmed that it has agreed to be a shared sponsor as well as the official telecommunications partner for both competitions.

“U Mobile is in the midst of developing a specific application concerning the tournaments. With that, our customers will be able to get up-to-date information while allowing them to watch interviews through their smart devices,” the Chief Marketing Officer of U Mobile, Jasmine Lee told Bernama reporters.

U Mobile is also establishing a website for fans to catch important highlights of matches, as well other contents in relation to football. The website will be launched next month.

WHAT DO WE THINK?

It’s a pretty good deal for both parties really. The Malaysian football market is hugely untapped at times, and U Mobile’s decision to come in will certainly increase brand awareness on their side, besides giving them a solid platform to engage in product placement methods. As far as FMLLP is concerned, it’s equally good. Judging by the tech aspects of the deal that U Mobile has agreed to work on, it will only increase the coverage of both competitions, which is undoubtedly positive.
