Television network Media Prima Berhad (Media Prima) has secured the rights to broadcast the Sultan of Selangor Cup through their TV3 channel from 2016 to 2018
The new deal is a continuation from their previous contract, between 2013-2015. This year, the prestigious tournament will be taking place at the Shah Alam Stadium on May 7th.
Chief Executive of Media Prima, Datuk Kamal Khalid said his department is grateful to the organizers for continuously trusting Media Prima to be the official broadcaster of the Sultan of Selangor Cup.
Kamal also added that they’ll be working on new plans for the coverage, including streaming the match online in collaboration with Tonton.
“With the co-operation of Tonton, we will be streaming the fixture live on the internet,” Kamal told Berita Harian.
“Media Prima will strive to give the public wide coverage of the Sultan of Selangor Cup match,” he added.
“Since the cup match was forced to be cancelled last year due to the extreme weather conditions (haze), we are expecting greater support for this year’s coverage of the nostalgic fixture,” he added.
