World No. 2 Datuk Nicol David advanced to the quarter-finals of the 2016 Guggenheim Partners & Equitrust Windy City Open in Chicago, United States of America.
Nicol David took only 31 minutes to beat England’s Sarah-Jane Perry 11-6, 11-9 and 11-5.
“Sarah-Jane is technically gifted and she played very well yesterday. She was constantly attacking me from all angles which put me under some pressure.
“I made sure that I did not give her any time to dominate the play.
“The key was not to allow her the space to take control of the game,” the 32 year-old said, according to Berita Harian.
The eight-time world squash champion will face Nour El Sherbini in the next round. The Penang-born player will be out for revenge against the Egyptian after she was beaten by the 20 year-old in the semi-finals of the Tournament of Champions in New York last month.
