VIDEO: Rashford nets TWO goals in Premier League debut vs Arsenal

Marcus Rashford’s name was already trending worldwide after his heroic performance against FC Midtjylland in their Europa League tie earlier this week, but the youngster capped off an unbelievable week by scoring TWO goals during his Premier League debut against Arsenal earlier today.

As aptly put by our Editor:

“See, Rashford may not go on to score 100 odd goals for the club. In fact, he could go on and leave the club in a couple of years, drop divisions and never see the limelight again. Or the complete opposite could happen. Rashford could go on and be an integral part of this squad. He could go on and spearhead United’s offensive department for years to come.

But right now, it doesn’t matter. Because his two-goal show today wasn’t about him. It was about the bits and pieces of this club, that remains alive, despite elements of modern football threatening to sweep in. Marcus Rashford represents the acute dreams and aspirations of every young United fan. To play at Old Trafford. To see 75,000 fans cheering you on and placing their hopes on you. To score in a historic fixture against a perennial rival.

Sometimes, football isn’t about Champions League triumphs and Premier League titles. It’s about seeing a boy walk into a stadium – one that he grew up watching and dreaming about from the stands – and make his dreams come true. I’ve always had mixed feelings about LvG, and injury issues evidently led to the inclusion of youngsters within the team. But he deserves credit for the sheer number of academy talents he’s integrated into the first team.”
