Aritz Aduriz is 35 years old and still banging in the goals!
The Athletic Bilbao forward scored the only goal of the match against Marseille during their UEFA Europa League Round of 32 clash at the Stade Vélodrome on Thursday. That took Ernesto Valverde’s men a step closer to the next round after clinching a vital away goal.
Iago Herrerin’s long-range pass was headed by Sabin Merino in the path of Aritz Aduriz, who unleashed a lethal volley past Steve Mandanda. That took his tally to 26 goals in 39 appearances, matching his all-time record for most goals in a season, with about 15 games to spare.
Supporters were delighted with the goal as some of them claimed it to be the best goal of the season.
