Selangor boss Zainal Abidin will be making severe changes to their starting eleven for the FA Cup match against AirAsia FC tonight, in the midst of their ongoing injury crisis.
Mauro Olivi, Gopinathan, Rob Cornthwaite, Nazmi Faiz and Hazwan Bakri have all been ruled out with injuries, and Zainal is visibly worried ahead of tonight’s clash.
“We have a good squad, but the lack of chemistry between these players could disrupt the flow of the game,” he told Sinar Harian.
“Although they’ve played in friendly matches together, the situation in a competitive game will be far different.
“The FA Cup is never easy. Over the years, we’ve seen some shocking results. It’s a competitive tournament and we’ve got to really fight for the win.
“AirAsia FC may be considered underdogs, but I’ve always reminded my players to never underestimate our opponents,” he added.
Zainal also went on to add that he’s hopeful of seeing their injured players returning in time for their AFC Cup tie next week.
