Media Prima have been given broadcasting rights to showcase the Malaysian Super League (MSL) matches for the next three years until 2018.
Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP) announced that Media Prima will begin their coverage of Malaysian football tomorrow, with two matches to be shown live at 9pm.
The media group will televise the Charity Shield match between reigning MSL champions, Johor Darul Ta’azim (JDT) and Malaysia Cup champions, Selangor on TV3. Meanwhile, TV9 will feature Perak taking on Kelantan at the Perak Stadium in Ipoh.
“The agreement includes live or replayed coverage of the MSL (two matches per gameweek) and the Superbest Power FA Cup (one match per round) from February to May 2016,” FMLLP stated, according to Sinar Harian.
“Media Prima will also cover one match per round of the TM Malaysia Cup, which will commence in July 2016,” they added.
“We are grateful to Media Prima for their support and we are pleased with this deal that will allow more supporters to watch live football in Malaysia,” according to Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) General Secretary Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin.
At the same time, CEO of Media Prima Television Networks, Datuk Kamal Khalid has said that his group have always been eager to provide the best coverage and broadcasting quality to their viewers.
