Kelantan to impose strict performance regulations on foreign players

The contracts of the foreign players of Kelantan FA (KAFA) can be terminated if they do not perform within six months of the Super League season.

KAFA President Tan Sri Annuar Musa said that under the new contract, a month’s notice will be given along with a salary of only two months, compared to an annual salary that was forced to pay by KAFA.

The new contracts are estimated to be worth RM5 million from a budget of RM16 million, which accommodates the players and pay them their salaries.

“For all of our foreign players, we will insert a new clause in their contracts which will allow us to give them a month’s notice and pay them two months of their salary if they do not perform within six months of the new season,” he told Harian Metro.

“This measure was taken to maintain the level of performance of the team. We do not a repeat of the past, where we paid a year’s worth of salary to players despite them leaving.

“These conditions have been accepted by the foreign players to ensure that Kelantan can bring home the title this season,” Tan Sri Annuar Musa said after the launch of the Lifeboat Khadam 01 Program yesterday.

He announced that the Kelantan players will be officially introduced tonight, including foreign players such as Dramane Traore (Mali), Blazhe Ilijoski (Macedonia), Jonatan Lucca (Brazil) and Jonathan McKain (Australia).
