Sarawak FA (FAS) will hold talks with Kelantan FA (KAFA) regarding the issue of former Harimau Muda A striker, Syahrul Azwari Ibrahim after Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) ordered him to return to his former state.
The FAM’s Player Status Committee made the decision after reviewing affidavits from both parties.
According to FAS Secretary-General Abdullah Julaihi, he said that his side will go through some discussions with KAFA to resolve the matter.
“Despite our reasoning in this situation, The Player Status Committee has already made a decision. We (FAS) can choose to appeal the decision or accept our fate as it is, he said according to Harian Metro.
However, Abdullah also said that FAS still has a glimmer of hope to receive the services of Syahrul Azwari one week after receiving the decision letter.
“It mostly depends on the discussion between FAS and KAFA, whether to make a decision or take it to the governing body.”
“Nonetheless, the appeal is likely to take some time and will cause Syahrul to miss out from being registered in the upcoming season,” he added.
Abdullah concluded that this nation will lose a great talent if this matter does not resolve in time for the new season.
