Pahang defender Zesh Rahman has urged fans to show their full support, claiming that it will provide motivation and encouragement to the team for the upcoming Malaysian League season.
Rehman, who is the only foreign player from the 2015 squad to be retained this season, asked the supporters to give Pahang time in order to showcase their true potential.
He said that the presence of young players in the team will take some getting used to as they need the time to adjust. However, he believes that Pahang will give a fight to the other teams when the season begins.
“Therefore, I hope the fans of The Elephants allow us the opportunity to grow as a team, especially the young players, as we need to build our chemistry,” he said according to Harian Metro.
“I understand that the team cannot wait to play a part in the new season. The younger players are showing high levels of commitment while trying to increase the quality of their games during training sessions,” he added.
The new foreigners that will join Rehman in Pahang are Nejc Potokar, German Pacheco and Dalibor Volas, replacing Dickson Nwakaeme, Matias Conti dan Damion Stewart.
Zesh Rehman has played 150 matches in England, representing Fulham, Norwich City, Queens Park Rangers and a handful of others.
