Dramane Traore gunning for silverware with Kelantan

The fact that Kelantan FA wants to regain control of Malaysian football inspired Dramane Traore to join The Red Warriors this season.

After a trophy-less first season in Malaysian football with Royal Malaysia Police FA (PDRM FA), Traore has vowed to finish his second season with at least a trophy.

“I considered last season as a trial period for me as it was my debut season here in Malaysia. I did not set any goals but to play as best as I could for PDRM FA,” he said according to Harian Metro.

“Despite not winning any silverware last season, I was personally happy when I was awarded the Golden Boot for scoring 20 goals.”

“I am certainly more ready this season as I understand how Malaysian football is played. I am determined on winning at least one title no matter what team I represent.

“When Kelantan FA approached me, I was extremely delighted because I felt that they were the best team to help me fulfill my goals. They are a team with great ambition.

“I am confident with the current team, especially with players like Piya (Mohd Badhri Radzi and Apek (Khairul Fahmi Che Mat), that we can go far in the title race.

“Piya is one of the best players in the Super League. I have admired his game for a long time and cannot wait to start playing alongside him. I am sure to score more goals if I have Piya’s help,” he said.

The former Mali international signed a season-long contract with Kelantan FA on Tuesday, after passing his medical in Kota Bharu.
