Terengganu FA may finally be on the verge of confirming their fourth foreign player for 2016, having spent the entire off-season looking for Paulo Rangel’s replacement.
The Turtles have offered trial stints to a myriad of forwards from all over the globe, including South African star Katlego Mphela. However, it now appears that another player has attracted their attention.
Malian forward Makan Dembele, who has been with them for several days now, has impressed the Terengganu coaching staff. He’s set to feature in their friendly game against the President Cup squad this evening and should he replicate his good form, Terengganu are prepared to officially table a contract offer.
“If he does well this evening, chances are that we will get him to don the Terengganu jersey for 2016,” Secretary-General of Terengganu FA, Arpin Draman told Harian Metro.
“That being said, the final decision will be at the discretion of manager Marzuki Sulong as well as head coach Ahmad Yusoff,” he added.
The 29 year-old last featured for USFAS Bamako in the Malian league, scoring 16 goals in 25 appearances.
