Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) are looking to end their pre-season on a high note as they face S-League opponents Geylang International FC in Larkin Stadium tonight.
JDT defender Aidil Zafuan Abd Razak does not see this match as just a friendly match, but more of a chance to improve on head coach Mario Gomez’s tactical approach.
He believes that the instructions given by Mario Gomez during training sessions and the pre-season friendlies will help JDT when they face Muangthong United in second qualifying round of the AFC Champions League.
“We played two friendly matches in Bangkok and it was a success despite not winning both games,” he said according to Harian Metro.
“The last test we face in Singapore gives the coach a chance to build his first 11 and I am sure that he will play his strongest team,” he added.
Aidil Zafuan is excited that JDT has the chance of qualifying for the group stages of the AFC Champions League for the first time in history.
