Kelantan FA are looking to complete the transfer of Muangthong United’s Teerasil Dangda as soon as the second transfer window for the Malaysian Super League opens in June.
According to the honourary advisor of the Kelantan Football Association (KAFA), Datuk Seri Dr. Hasmiza Othman (Dr. Vida), negotiations between both parties went well, and that Dangda is expected to make the move, when his contract with Muangthong expires in June.
“I believe that the arrival of Dangda will strengthen our squad this season. If we want to challenge for trophies, we need good foreign players that can improve the quality of our football,” she told Kosmo.
“We cannot take this lightly as other clubs such such Johor Darul Takzim (JDT), Selangor and Pahang have been successful in recent years with the help of quality import players,” she added.
Since 2009, Teerasil Dangda has scored 86 goals in 186 appearances for Muangthong United. He also went on trial with English Premier League giants Manchester City in 2007 and played 10 matches for La Liga side Almeria in the 2014-15 season, scoring 1 goal in the process.
