The Malaysian Bodybuilding Federation (MBF) will most likely be making its ultimate decision regarding the appeal filed by national bodybuilder Sazali Samad in the nearest period possible.
Secretary Kamaruzaman Kadir claimed that the MBF Appeal Committee will be having its first conference in just a few more days to announce the details on reducing Sazali’s four-year suspension.
“I have sent a letter including all details of the case to the committee last Saturday. I am not sure when will the committee make their decision. Maybe it’ll be in another two or three days,” he told Bernama today.
“Till last night, I haven’t heard of any progress regarding the action. They will be informing me about their first conference. For now, we do not know which member of the committee will be handling it, we will only know during the conference.”
There is also a possibility for the 48 year-old athlete to be called in and justify himself.
“Whatever decision that will be made on this case and when will they announce it all depends on them. I don’t want to make any assumptions. However, it is for sure that this case will be settled soon.”
Previously, the Disciplinary Committee had handed the 10-time Mr Universe a four-year suspension after discovering that he failed an out-of-competition doling test conducted by the Malaysian Anti-Doping Agency (ADAMAS) on September 1, just weeks before the Asian Bodybuilding Championship in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
