Malaysian diving sensation Ooi Tze Liang, who has already qualified for the Rio Olympics, has set an aim to improve both his physical and mental strength in order to gain a balance to achieve better results in the upcoming Rio Olympics in August.
Despite being handed the extra weight on his shoulders to get a podium victory in the major event, Tze Liang claimed that his main focus will be on easing his mind and not pressuring himself.
“Nothing is impossible when you do your best because anything can happen in a competition,” said Tze Liang as quoted from Harian Metro.
“What needs to be done is to prepare myself mentally for the competition. So that I stay positive and accept every obstacle because that’s what’s important.”
So far, only four national divers have qualified for the Olympics, with them being bronze medalist Pandelela Rinong (10m platform), Wendy Ng (3m springboard), Nur Dhabitah Sabri (10m platform) and Tze Liang.
The Aquatics World Cup in Brazil next month will serve as a platform for other divers to qualify for the Olympics.
