Here’s something for you Kelantan fans out there.
The Red Warriors are currently hosting several trialists from around the globe, including ex-Penang striker Lee Gil Hoon as well as former Sime Darby forward Marko Perovic.
All of them have been training with Kelantan’s first team squad for the past few days and they are set to feature in a friendly match against Air Asia FC in Kota Bharu today.
Their performance in this particular match, will be used as a benchmark before head coach K. Devan finalizes his choice of a brand new foreign striker.
Sounds fair right? But according to a source, Marko Perovic is rather unhappy at the fact that he has to feature in a trial match in order to prove his credentials – considering that he’s played in Malaysia for the last one year.
The Serbian forward supposedly told the Kelantan FA management that he won’t be participating in the friendly match, and that he’ll only feature for them if a contract offer is tabled as soon as possible.
While there’s no official confirmation on the matter, it remains to be seen if Perovic does take to the field tonight, when the friendly game kicks off. But even if he does, should Kelantan really push to sign a forward that’s willing to drop ultimatums? Or do you think Perovic’s actions are justified?
