Felda United confirm arrival of two new foreign signings

Felda United have secured two additional signings to fulfil their quota of four foreign players ahead of this year’s Malaysia Super League campaign.

The Fighters opted to retain Zah Rahan Krangar as well as Thiago Augusto, meaning that they had two empty foreign player slots, though Lutfulla Turaev from Uzbekistan as well as Gilberto Carlos from Brazil, have been acquired to fill those slots.

Lutfulla is a dynamic midfielder, who was signed from Lokomotiv Tashkent, while Gilberto is a highly rated defender in the second division of Brazilian football.

“These two foreign players are precisely what we need. We had a look at our weaknesses throughout last year, and we moved towards signing players that would help us deal with those weaknesses,” Felda United’s Vice-President Datuk Mohd Isa Abu Kassim was quoted as saying by Sinar Harian.

“With this squad, I really believe that we’ll be able to fulfill our KPI this year,” he added.

Besides these two individuals, Felda have already acquired the services of several local players. Idris Ahmad has joined from Perak, Shukor Jusoh has been snapped up from ATM while Ridzuan Abdunloh has been obtained from Harimau Muda A.

Irfan Bakti and his men will be leaving for Bangladesh this weekend, as they prepare to compete in the Bangabandhu Gold Cup in Dhaka, as part of their pre-season preparation.
