National shuttler Woon Khe Wei believes that she and partner, Vivian Hoo are not at all in the best position to qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Khe Wei claimed that their position right now is just a fine line between players that have qualified and otherwise.
“Actually it is not only us that are fighting for a slot in the 2016 Olympics, but all players from around the world are also doing the same. Of course, Vivian and I would love to play in the Olympics,” said Khe Wei as quoted from Harian Metro.
Despite the determination to qualify, Khe Wei also concedes that overthinking about the topic would lead to unnecessary pressure.
“I will only try to do my best. If I fail, I take it as fate. It’s not just me, I think everyone would be having the same thoughts as me, regarding whether can we qualify or not.”
“Everyone seems to be giving us pressure but maybe it’s my age catching up so I don’t want to think a lot about it. I’m getting much more matured and I just want to play badminton in peace,” said the 26 year-old.
Vivian and Khe Wei currently stand at no.19 in the BWF World Ranking with a total of 35,204 points.
