Malaysian diver Pandelela Rinong has been declared fit to compete at the FINA Australian GP, after overcoming a recent injury setback.
She picked up a back injury and was forced to withdraw from the Kuala Lumpur GP. Coach Yang Zhuliang expressed his concern earlier this week, claiming that Pandelela’s injury was rather worriying.
But while he’s delighted that she’s bounced back from the setback and that she’ll be available to compete in Australia, Zhuliang isn’t keen on taking any risks for the time being.
“Pandelela is fit again but I don’t want to take a risk,” he told Harian Metro.
She will only compete in one event because we want to see how far she can go, having just recovered,” he added.
