Nicol David recaptured her old form by winning her 10th Hong Kong Open title earlier today.
She went up against long-time rival Laura Massaro in the final and the battle was visibly close from the get go. But Nicol persevered through the final and ultimately clinched a 15-13, 11-5, 11-3 win to seal only her second title of the year.
“I was just on adrenaline today and gave it my all,” Nicol was quoted as saying by the New Straits Times, after dispatching Massaro.
This victory means that she ends 2015 on a high and will now focus on bouncing back with a stronger showing next year, especially since the Women’s World Championship, which was scheduled to take place later this month, was cancelled.
Also, this was her 80th career title, having reached a remarkable amount of 100 PSA finals.
