Kedah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mukhriz Tun Mahathir has announced a reward of RM15,000 for every player that was part of the Kedah squad that made the final of the Malaysia Cup last weekend.
With the Canaries turning on their style this season and emerging as the runners-up of the Malaysian Cup, Mukhriz claimed that it was fair to reward the players for their efforts and improvements.
“We know the Kedah squad fought without hoping for any big reward all this while, but with this extraordinary achievement, after discussions with the relevant parties, we have agreed to give this reward,” he was quoted as saying by Sinar Harian.
The other players would also be rewarded based on the percentage of time they spent playing for the team.
Mukhriz went on to add that plans for 2016 are already underway and that the management would be shifting their focus towards next year’s Malaysia Super League campaign.
