Johor DT have ended the group stages of the AFC Cup as winners of Group F after claiming a comfortable 3-0 win over Balestier Khalsa earlier today.
Despite a rather balanced tempo to the game, JDT got into the strides late in the second half, as three goals in 15 minutes allowed them to seal top spot in the group.
Safee Sali initially broke the deadlock on the 75th minute, before Safiq Rahim made it 2-0 10 minutes later. Luciano Figueroa then added cherry on the icing by netting JDT’s third goal of the night to seal a comfortable 3-0 win.
The win allowed JDT to finish four points ahead of Kitchee FC, and their record within the group has been nothing short of impressive as well. JDT have won five out of their six matches, scoring 11 goals while only conceding a mere 3.
