BMW Malaysian Open: Caroline Wozniacki advances to quarters

Former world number one Caroline Wozniacki is through to the quarterfinals of the BMW Malaysian Open after defeating China’s Lin Zhu at the Royal Selangor Gold Club.

The fifth-ranked Dane managed to down the 21 year-old with an easy 6-4, 6-1 victory in just 75 minutes.

Though Zhu Lin managed to put up a good fight against the top seed in the opening set, the former world number fought back hard to secure the first set and powered through in the following set to ultimately clinch victory.

“This is my first time playing with her. She is a good player, I was forced to work hard to secure that win in the first set.” said Caroline Wozniaki.

Wozniaki will next face Carina Witthoeft, who defeated fifth seed Klara Koukalava of Czech Republic with a 7-6, 6-0 victory.
