Moto3 rider Zulfahmi Khairuddin has been given one final chance to improve his performance or face the risk of being dropped from the national SIC Racing Team.
According to Sepang International Circuit (SIC) Chief Executive Officer Datuk Razlan Razali, the 2015 World Motorcycle Championship will be Khairuddin’s last chance to prove his capabilities.
If it all goes well for the 23 year-old, with regards to securing top ten position in every round of the competition and a podium finish during the Malaysian Grand Prix (GP), he will be promoted to the Moto2 series.
“We have many other younger racers with plenty of potential in them,” Razlan told Utusan Malaysia.
“To me, 2015 will be his last chance and he needs to start showing signs of growth and improvement.
Razlan also added that they wouldn’t hesitate to drop him during the season, should his performances continue to head on a downward spiral.
This year marks Khairuddin’s 7th year of participation in the Moto3 series, since making his debut in the 125cc World Championship of the 2009 Malaysian Grand Prix, where he finished 20th.
