Perak head coach Datuk M. Karathu has revealed that he will be giving reserve players a chance to prove their mettle when they take on Shahzan Muda in the FA Cup this weekend.
The Seladangs will be playing the third tier FAM League side in Kuantan on Saturday and while Coach Karathu maintained that they are interested in taking the competition serious, injuries within the squad means that he’ll be rotating his squad to get fresher legs onto the pitch.
“Four of my first team players are injured, but at the same time, we’re quite serious about the match,” he told FourthOfficial.com
“We’re playing in the evening as well so I will certainly be ringing the changes as to who features on the pitch. This match should give me a great chance to assess some of my reserve players,” he added.
Over the years, Perak have always struggled to make it past the first two rounds of the competition as they usually get paired against top quality Super League sides. However, with a third division side standing in their way this time around, the Seladangs will certainly be keen on banishing their FA Cup hoodoo.
