Twitter reacts to Arsenal’s defeat against Monaco

Arsenal haven’t exactly had it easy and comfortable in the Champions League, but there was certainly some degree of optimism within their fans this time around. They were up against Monaco in first knockout round of the prestigious competition and while they respected the French outfit, they certainly felt confident that a victory was quite possibly in the bag.

But what transpired in the game was entirely different. Kondogbia opened the scoring on the 38th minute before Dimitar Berbatov made it 2-0 seven minutes after the restart. Arsenal managed to reduce the deficit on the 90th minute, with substitute Oxlade Chamberlain finding the back of the net though Ferreira-Carrasco had the last say by firing home a third goal for the away side at the death.

The defeat wasn’t merely symbolic. This was massive considering that its a two-legged tie, so Monaco will head into the second leg at home, with three crucial away goals. And as expected, Twitter exploded after the final whistle!
