Terengganu skipper Ahmad Nordin Alias has urged his teammates to be cautious ahead of the FA Cup tie against Melaka United this weekend.
The Turtles have had a strong start to the season, collecting six points out of their first two matches and they will certainly head into this weekend as massive favourites, particularly since Melaka United are part of the third tier FAM League.
While fans are expecting them to steamroll past their opponents, Nordin is inclined to not underestimate their opponents, claiming that the lack of familiarity could come back to haunt them.
“To me, I’d rather face a Super League team because you at least have an idea of how they would play,” he told Harian Metro.
“But against Melaka United, it’ll be different. We don’t know them and they will certainly be on the field, determined to do well and cause an upset. Never mind the fact that we have Paulo Rangel and other quality players, because if we don’t stick together as a team and play well this weekend, things could get delicate.”
The clash between Terengganu and Melaka United will take place at the Hang Jebat Stadium on Saturday.
