Selangor FA winger Andik Vermansyah has his sights set firmly on seeking revenge when they take on Felda United in the FA Cup this weekend.
The last time both sides met, the Red Giants were given a footballing lesson by Irfan Bakti’s side as they thumped Selangor 4-0 in the Malaysia Cup. That defeat sparked a period of momentary downfall for them, with several fans breaking into the training ground to question their horrid performance in the game.
But Felda have continued growing as a team and they currently lead the Super League table with seven points from three games. Andik agrees that they have a terrific squad, but he also believes that this is the perfect opportunity for him and his teammates to avenge their miserable defeat.
“The match against Felda will not be easy, especially since they are leading the Super League table,” he told Harian Metro.
“Beyond that, they have an exceptional squad as well. But when it comes to football, nothing is impossible and this is the ideal chance for me to seek revenge for that defeat last year.”
The Indonesian winger has been in fine form so far, having scored two goals in the league. He is apparently carrying a minor injury, though the 23 year-old is determined to push it aside and feature this weekend.
