The 2015 SEA Games’ requirement for athlete qualification will only be drawn according to guidelines established by the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM).
As of now, the National Sports Council (NSC) and the Malaysian Athletics Federation (MAF) will have to only follow the set of established guidelines by OCM when it comes to the selection of the SEA Games athletes.
This comes after MAF announced that a few athletes had already passed the requirements that was set by their Technical Director, Robert J Ballard.
However, the NSC’s sports manager, Datuk M. Magendran has rejected the list of qualified names given, claiming that they should only follow the guidelines from OCM.
“The NSC has no power and they are to only follow the rules that are set by the OCM,” Datuk M. Magendran told Harian Metro.
“Only athletes that have passed OCM’s requirements will be sent to Singapore.”
