Kelantan FA’s title hopes have been dealt a massive blow after it was confirmed that Brendan Gan has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
The playmaker picked up an injury just minutes after stepping into the field against ATM last weekend and looked dejected as he nursed the pain on the touchlines.
The club then conducted extensive tests on him over the last two days and it has been confirmed that Brendan Gan will approximately be out for eight months.
“We are so sorry to inform all our fans that Brendan Gan has completely torn his ACL in our opening match vs ATM. Gan will not be able to play for us this season because of the recovery process, which usually takes 8 months,” Kelantan head coach George Boateng said.
“Gan is a very important player for us and and he will be a big miss for us this season. As a coach, I really don’t know how we can replace him because we are the only team in the Super League to have 4/5 foreign players with Gan in the team.
“All of us here at TRW wish Brendan Gan a speedy recovery and we look forward to have him back in the team,” Boateng added.
Meanwhile, Brendan himself is absolutely devastated with the news, considering that he had only signed a contract extension with them recently. However, the former Central Coast Mariners midfielder is determined to remain optimistic and push for a strong comeback sooner than later.
