Ex-Australia and Johor FA forward Abbas Saad believes that the Southern Tigers have what it takes to raise Malaysia’s profile to a bigger level ahead of their Asian Champions League tie against Bengaluru.
Bojan Hodak’s men will be hosting the Indian side in the first leg of their ACL qualifiers tomorrow and they will certainly head into the game on high spirits after getting their MSL campaign off to a solid start last weekend.
And judging by the squad depth that’s available at Bojan’s disposal, Abbas sees no reason as to why they can’t put on a strong show in this competition.
“I’m extremely impressed by the set-up in Johor DT and I think they are actually in a perfect position to head into the competition and really raise some eyebrows,” he told FourthOfficial.com exclusively.
“They have a terrific squad and the squad depth is amazing. So he will have the liberty of rotating the team and that will definitely help Bojan field a strong side.
“Either way, I’d like to wish them good luck and I’m sure Malaysia will be backing them when the game kicks off tomorrow.”
Should Johor DT seize victory tomorrow, they will next face Bangkok Glass FC in the second preliminary round of the ACL qualifiers.
