Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel showcased his mettle by topping the times at the second day of pre-season testing in Jerez.
The former Red Bull Racing driver posted the fastest lap time of 1:20.984, finishing ahead of Sauber’s Felipe Nasr and Williams-Mercedes’ Valtteri Bottas.
Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton finished fourth despite struggling with reliability issues. McLaren though, continued to struggle with Jenson Button only completing six full laps during the test.
However, the British racer is composed about the situation, claiming that the issues will be sorted out sooner than later.
“It has not been the easiest start to the season but it is a very complicated power unit. We understand the issue and we have our heads around it – that’s what the last run in the wet was about – so we are hoping for a much more productive day three and day four,” he told BBC.
