Malaysia squash queen Nicol Ann David has set a brand new world record of being the world’s best squash player for the 106th consecutive month.
She now becomes the first person in Women’s Squash Association (WSA)’s history to stay at the top of the world rankings for that long, defeating the previous record of 105 months, which was set by New Zealand’s Susan Devoy.
“Being number one is something you have to earn every day,” Malaysian superstar told AFP.
“For me, it is really about playing the tournaments. Everything else is a bonus.”
Besides being on top of the rankings since 2006, the Malaysian legend is also the first Asian woman to have ever topped the rankings and that doesn’t take into account of the fact that she’s also clinched a total of 78 titles throughout her career.
