Pahang FA striker Dickson Nwakaeme is certainly looking forward to the Charity Shield clash between Pahang and Johor DT tomorrow, suggesting that the tie is probably Malaysia’s own version of El Clasico.
Both sides were absolutely sensational last year, with Johor DT claiming the league title, while Pahang swooping everything else, including the prestigious Malaysia Cup title.
And as they prepare to lock horns tomorrow, Dickson is determined to spearhead Pahang to glory, claiming that they are keen on winning every match that comes their way, irrespective of the occassion.
“The match between Johor DT and Pahang will definitely be interesting. It’s akin to El Clasico between Real Madrid and Barcelona,” he told Harian Metro.
“But our goal is to win every match, regardless of whether there is a trophy at stake. The Malaysia Cup triumph is already the past and I need to now stay focused on the brand new mission.
“If I get to play and score a goal, I’d certainly be delighted, but my ultimate goal is to see the team win at the end of the day.”
