Serena Williams will be going up against Maria Sharapova in the final of the Australian Open after she secured victory agains Madison Keys earlier today.
The American teenager was no pushover as she forced Serena all the way in the first set, though the World No. 1 did eventually triumph 7-6 (7-5). In the second set though, it was all about Serena as she showcased her brilliance to claim a 6-2 win and effectively book her spot in the final.
Meanwhile, Maria Sharapova won an all-Russian semi finals tie against Ekaterina Makarova, clinching it 6-3, 6-2. It was a comfortable victory for Sharapova, and she will now be up against her traditional rival, Serena.
This will also be their fourth Grand Slam finals meet, with their last one being the 2013 French Open final. +
