National Under-23 head coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee is apparently set to honour his contract and remain tied with FAM till the end of the year.
Kim Swee was reportedly unhappy with the role that has been given to him by FAM this year, which would see him play no part with the U-23 squad that would be competing in the S.League later this year.
At the same time, Sabah FA were also extremely keen on appointing him to spearhead their challenge in the Malaysian Premier League this year, after the fracas involving George O’Callaghan.
But according to Harian Metro, it now appears that the ex-Malaysian international is set to remain with FAM after holding talks with President Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah on Monday.
However, the man himself has refused to make any statements, meaning that official confirmation on the situation will only be available once Tengku Abdullah releases a statement this Friday.
